Media Ethics 2025 – Call for papers
Submissions of communication proposals are open for the IX edition of Media Ethics, an international congress that brings together researchers interested in the ethical responsibility of the media. This year, Media Ethics will debate the topic “Communication and Mental Health”, with a special focus on analyzing how communication processes influence the psychological well-being of society and how the media can contribute to improving this reality.
The media must take responsibility for a reality that is often invisible, which affects a growing number of people in so-called “technologically developed” societies, but who pay a high psychological price due to an increasingly individualistic and stressful lifestyle. In this context, individuals become part of a depersonalized mechanism in different forms of production. Therefore, it is up to the media to fully and rigorously address issues related to mental health, addictions and those affected, avoiding sensationalism or trivialization.
Media Ethics 2025 will take place between the 25th and 27th of June at the Universidad CEU Cardenal Herrera, in Valencia, Spain. The 25th will be dedicated to online communications, while the 26th and 27th will be reserved for in-person activities.
Communication proposals can be sent until February 28, 2025. For more information about the thematic lines and the submission process, access the official website.
