A construção intencional da ignorância: o mercado das informações falsas
Description
The intentional construction of ignorance has become part of a marketing process and political manipulation of the masses in countries such as Russia, the United States and England, among others. This process arrived in Brazil driven by the actions of several movements in the context of creating a preparatory scenario for the impeachment of former president Dilma Rousseff between 2013 and 2016, although traces that it was already operating in Brazil previously exist. New media configurations and technological resources were activated and combined with the tools developed by Behavioral Psychology, with the aim of working on direct narratives aimed at each identified audience's psychological profile, reaching emotions, values and beliefs. In this book, Ana Regina Rêgo and Marialva Barbosa follow the path that led Brazil and the countries mentioned to plunge into a process of intentional ignorance that is characterized by scientific and historical denialism and a confrontation between journalism and the flow of false information that run via digital social media.
